Northwest Kansas Experience: Agri-Tourism Part 2
This is the third year northwest Kansas is offering a one day workshop on agri-tourism. The name of the event is, “Northwest Kansas Rural Experience: Agri-Tourism Part 2”. The workshop will be held on April 4, 2007, at the Gateway Convention Center, 1 Morgan Drive, Oberlin, Kansas, and will begin at 8:30 A.M. CT with registration.
This workshop will be adapted to those interested in beginning and presently in the venture of agri-tourism business. Information out this workshop is open to the tri-state area as a provisional tool box for agriculture as well as rural value-added possibilities. The workshop is comprised of speakers that are in the agri-tourism field that will provide various aspects of the business to consider.
The opening keynote speaker will be Ben Allen, K-State Research and Extension Agri-tourism specialist. Richard Smalley, Kansas Department of Commerce Marketing Specialist, will provide an in depth morning workshop on marketing agri-tourism.
The afternoon will provide Darvin Strutt, F&M Insurance, speaking on liability issues. Harold Sulzman, Peoples State Bank, will provide information on financial considerations for agri-tourism. The day workshop will wrap up with a panel including three local tourism businesses and the workshop speakers.
The community of Oberlin would like to invite the participants to enjoy a self guided tour of their beautiful downtown. Come and learn from this informational workshop. Booth space for business advertisement is available. Lunch will be provided.
