The site is a project of the Kansas Agritourism Advisory Council, working in cooperation with:
the Kansas Agriculture Marketing Division and the Travel and Tourism Division of the Department of Commerce
and with financial assistance from Frontier Farm Credit.
We invite you to explore this website to find a variety of articles and resources that will help you succeed in agritourism.

Northwest Kansas Experience: Agri-Tourism Plus...
(Two-Day Workshop and Tour)

Northwest Kansas partners will be holding a two-day workshop and tour named, “Northwest Kansas Experience: Agri-Tourism Plus,” on April 4 and 5, 2006. The planning partners for this event include RC&Ds, extension, cvb's, economic development, conservation districts, chambers of commerce, NRCS, community foundations, and others.

The intension of the workshop and tour is to develop a 9 county northwest Kansas consortium of those who are involved in rural tourism and also those who may be interested in areas of agri-tourism, cultural tourism, bed and breakfasts, and pure rural enjoyment businesses that provide a value added effect to their existing businesses. This consortium would be a cluster of businesses that could enhance each other in NW Kansas through future special events giving exposure to both those inside and outside the area.

This workshop and tour event will provide connection of one-on-one mentorship to those interested in tourism and the technical assistance knowledge available from state agencies, federal agencies, local agencies, and private and area organizations.
