The site is a project of the Kansas Agritourism Advisory Council, working in cooperation with:
the Kansas Agriculture Marketing Division and the Travel and Tourism Division of the Department of Commerce

2006 Kansas Visitor's Guide Advertising Opportunities Booklet and Forms

It’s that time again, time to put together your listing for the 2006 Kansas Visitor's Guide. I think everyone would agree the Visitor's Guide just keeps getting better. Our editorial plan for next year is exciting as we once again team up with Midwest Living Magazine to help produce it. Earlier this year, an independent conversion study was conducted with the 2004 Guide. We will be incorporating some of the information gathered from that study to enhance next year’s Visitor's Guide, making it even more traveler friendly.

We are consolidating many of the listings in the back of the book under the appropriate community. Hotels and motels, bed and breakfasts, destination dining, golf courses, and motorsports will now all be listed together along with attractions and shopping under the community. The traveler now just needs to find their destination and will find everything they need in one place. However, because vacations are often planned around camping, the guest working ranch experience, hunting/fishing lodges and outfitters, or retreat centers, these listings will remain separate.

The Kansas Calendar section will also have some changes. Once again, research shows the impact the Internet has on the traveler. Most travelers now check the Internet for the most current events in the area they’ll be visiting. Therefore, we have developed new guidelines for the Kansas Calendar listings and will be reducing pages allocated to the calendar. We want to stress how important it is to keep your listings on www.travelKS.com current. Remember, these web site listings are free!

How to Find Forms and Copy of Advertising Opportunities Booklet

Once you find the web site link:

Click on Kansas Visitor's Guide Documents.
Scroll down and find the Advertising Opportunities Booklet.
Print out the Advertising Opportunities Booklet which contains instructions on filling out the forms and the pricing structure.
Please read the Advertising Opportunities Booklet before filling out the forms and submitting payment.
Download the forms to your computer.
Fill them in on your computer (WORD format).
This helps us with inputting your form information; handwritten forms are difficult to read and take longer to process.
NOTE: If you do not have WORD, choose the PDF format and print them out for filling in by hand.
Save them to your computer.
Print them out. (Forms are NOT submitted online).
Send completed forms and ONE check for total payment due.
If you are not working with your tourism entity you must submit Form 001 (Summary Worksheet) with your packet and payment.
